Byron Bay will once again welcome the world’s leading para-surfers, with the BrightSky Australian Pro Adaptive Surfing Championships confirmed to return from [27 February – 6 March 2027].
The nationally sanctioned event — now one of the most anticipated dates on the adaptive surfing calendar — will bring athletes, families and supporters from across Australia and around the world to Byron’s iconic coastline. Across nine competitive divisions, the championships will showcase skill, courage and high-performance surfing from some of the sport’s most inspiring athletes.
Registrations open on 1 December 2027, with strong interest expected following record participation and audience growth in recent years.
Set against the backdrop of Byron Bay’s natural beauty and vibrant surf culture, the 2027 championships will again highlight the region’s commitment to accessible sport, community connection and world-class competition.
